Hi there everybody! It's me, Bimmer. Part time detective and full time princess at your service.
I've been thinking there was something a little fishy about this whole lawsuit thingy and so I've done a little checking.
First of all, I disguised myself as a nurse and went to check on MooseDog in the ICU.
He's improving a lot, but he says he hasn't talked to ANY lawyers and isn't planning to sue Dr. Mummy. (He does like the sound of all those treats though.)
When I got back from the ICU, I noticed Bentley hanging around Mummy's computer looking sort of furtive...
...so after he was out of sight, I sneaked over and took a look...
...and GASP! I found the template for that lawyer's business card!
Hmmm...I decided to do some more checking and I found this very telling photograph of "the incident"...
(One thing Bentley failed to mention in HIS blog the other day is that when MooseDog got injured in that Tug O War accident, he was actually being used as THE ROPE!) I thought more investigation was needed so next I checked the Olympic website and what do you know? Tug O War is NOT an Olympic event at all!
In case you were wondering if this was a one time thing, here's another photo for you...
What IS that you say? Well at one time it was the leg of a very cute kitty cat. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.
Now, you're probably wondering about the hydrotherapy/cotton candy thing. Well let me show you a couple of interesting items.
This is Exhibit A:
...or as we like to call him: Fuzzy.
Fuzzy showed up after Bentley's bath the other night.
Now THIS is Exhibit B:
...AKA Whitey.
Whitey made his appearance not long after TURBO's bath last night.
These are my conclusions:
1. MooseDog doesn't know anything about any lawsuit against Dr. Mummy.
2. BENTLEY used Mummy's computer to make that lawyer card.
3. If anybody is culpable for MooseDog's pain and mental anguish and so forth, it would be a couple of culprits who shall remain nameless (but they're my brothers!)
4. Little furry creatures just automatically appear after dogs take baths and since MooseDog is part dog, that "cotton candy" in the washing machine was actually HIS bath leftovers and not some terrible, awful injury at all.
Whew! Now that we've got that taken care of, let me get ready for a royal outing with my queen!

WOW #66: Look Out for the Ambulance Chasers!
Greetings everyone! Bentley here! I need a new typist! Or perhaps a happier day job for my current typist. I don't know.
Anyway, I have sort of upsetting news! All my Facebook pals probably remember what happened with my cute little Moose Dog a while back. For those of you who aren't "in the know", let me quickly fill you in...
This is Moose Dog.
Cute little fellow, isn't he?
Tragically, while training for the Olympic Tug O War Event, Moose Dog was seriously injured! Turbo and I discovered him in the "gym" in great pain!
It must have been a terrible accident! I don't quite know what happened. *Rolls eyes innocently*
We rushed him straight to Dr. Mummy for surgery and she worked very hard for hours and HOURS to save him! After surgery he spent quite a long time in the ICU.
Unfortunately we just found out he is SUING Dr. Mummy! He says the surgery went as well as could be expected, but the post-op therapy that was prescribed nearly KILLED him! He says that he really doesn't think the WASHING MACHINE is the best place for wounded athletes like him to receive hydrotherapy!
We can't post such graphic photos in a family blog, but you've seen cotton candy machines? You know what that looks like with the fluffy stuff all around the sides? That's pretty much how Moose Dog looked after his first therapy session!
He was recently approached by an attorney who handles cases like this all the time. Here's his card:
Mr. Barkley is sure Moose Dog can get a huge settlement! The list of complaints include:
1. Pain and Suffering
2. Emotional Distress
3. No Olympic Medal
4. Loss of Wages
5. Skinny Antlers
Mr. Barkley has drawn up a list of demands and he is pretty sure we...uh, I mean...Moose Dog can win most if not all of them.
Here they are:
1. Cookies!
2. Snausages!
3. TBonz!
(LOTS of all of these)
4. Bacon!
5. Bully Sticks!
(LOTS of these too!)
6. Two trips per month to Five Guys for 2 years (For Moose Dog AND his good pal Bentley!
Also a large assortment of new toys and a special blanket just for Moose Dog.
Mr. Barkley says this case will probably be settled out of court, but not to worry if there's a trial. He says Moose Dog (and his good pal Bentley) are so cute we -uh- THEY will just naturally win!
I don't know what Dr. Mummy is going to do! Mr. Barkley hasn't heard anything from her attorney yet. I'll keep you posted!

WOW #65: The Waddle, Part Two
In our last episode Bimmer and I had just arrived in Ocean City with our humans in tow and had settled in for the night. We now join the action the following morning...
When we got up the next morning, after a sort of rocky night (It's not EASY sleeping in an unfamiliar bed! Mummy said Bimmer and I could sleep with her, but I jumped down and went to sleep on the bed she brought with us. Made it feel a little more like home.)we went for a little morning walk. Then Mummy and Auntie A went out and when they came back they brought us a surprise! Bacon! It smelled SOOOO good! We could hardly wait while Mummy made breakfast!
As soon as she got it ready I dug right in! Yuummm YUM!
After that we had to wait while Mummy and Auntie A got ready. Humans take FOREVER to get ready! Ever noticed that? I tried to prod Mummy along a little. (Here's your shoe Mummy, right over here!)
FINALLY we were Waddle Bound with flags flying!
The Meet and greet was SO much fun! We met LOTS of new friends and saw some old ones.
Here's the next Derby winner! We think that's John Velazquez up!
Here's a hound who's super ready, you can tell! That's Baxter's lovely and wonderful mom in the background helping with registration.
This next guy we were very excited about! Mr. Beach....The HOUND! Bimmer was very thrilled to meet such a celebrity!
Mummy said this was a VERY handsome hound. HUMMMMPH!
Bimmer and I took a few moments from the mixer to have close up portraits done.
AND we finally got to see the debut of Baxter's super secret costume:
Do you know what he is? Some people didn't get it, but I did. So did Mummy and Auntie A.
(He's a CHICK MAGNET! Aren't we all?)
Baxter won second place in the costume contest. We all thought he should have had first! His costume was so clever and original!
Here's a picture of some of the homes we passed in Ocean City.
When we got to the boardwalk, I had to greet a lot of fans. I LOVE greeting fans!
PREE-SENT Bell-EE! (Heehee, get a belly rub whenever you can, that's what I say)
Bimmer and I asked Mummy if we could have some ice cream....
....but she didn't think it would be good for our tummies after all that excitement. (Sighs loudly)
After a while we went back to the motel and Baxter and I talked cars for a while.
Bimmer was a little bored with all the guy talk. She said she wished she'd brought Lambchops along. But THEN we got the best surprise of all! My Aunt Amy and Uncle Jim stopped by! I was REALLY excited. I met them last year and we've been friends on Facebook for a long time but didn't know we'd met before until it was nearly time for THIS year's Waddle!
I LOVE my beautiful Aunt Amy!
Bimmer liked her too:
Then I said "hi" to Uncle Jim. He's really cool too!
Me and Uncle Jim were busy talking and we both forgot we were supposed to be posing for the camera. We turned our heads at exactly the wrong moment!
Aunt Amy says my paws are as big as her hand!
She LOVES my paws! :)=)
We wanted them to stay and stay, but they were on their way home, so we had to let them go. It was very sad.
We went up to our room and took a little rest.
Bimmer got on the bed with Mummy...
...and I TRIED to get in my bed....
...but Mummy had folded it up...
...and it was just....
...IMPOSSIBLE!! (snorts)
So the next morning after another delicious bacon breakfast, we packed up the car and headed for home, back across all those wells...
...and now Bimmer is dreaming dreams of next year's Waddle!

WOW #64: The WADDLE!!! (Part 1)
Greetings friends! I hope you're all well and have lots of cookies and bacon! I had SUCH an exciting trip last weekend! It was SO fun and so full of adventures, I think it'll take me TWO entries to tell you all about it! Bimmer and I got to go to Ocean City, NJ to be part of the Basset Waddle! It was so fun! We took Mummy and Auntie A with us so they wouldn't get into trouble while we were gone. I even let Mummy drive the new car.
We started out by loading all the luggage in the car. It took hours and HOURS! I can't imagine what Mummy wanted with all that stuff! She even packed food for us, can you believe it? I thought we could just go out and get something on the Boardwalk or maybe at Five Guys when we got hungry, but she had to pack all that food! After we FINALLY got everything in the car (in the way back-the part Mummy wanted US to sit in, heh heh!) we went to Auntie A's house to get her. And SHE brought MORE stuff! Honestly, what do they need with all that stuff? (THEN when we got there, Mummy kept complaining that she forgot to bring this thing or that thing. I really can't imagine where we would have put it all if she'd remembered everything!)
Here we are at Auntie A's house waiting for the luggage to all be loaded.
And we waited...
And WAITED!!
FINALLY they showed signs of actually getting in the car!
Then we went to Hardee's and had sausage biscuits...almost like my dream!
Finally we were ready to hit the road. Bimmer and I thought that would be a good time to take a nap. So we did.
At this point, I would just like to say, NOBODY EVER MENTIONED ALL THE WELLS!!! We had to cross all these LOOOOONNNNG bridges over some of the BIGGEST wells I've ever seen! Just LOOK at all that water!
Here's one of the bridges...
I do NOT like driving over top of those giant wells!
In between bridges the trip was pretty uneventful. Would you believe it? Mummy missed her turn and we had to drive and drive and DRIVE to get back to Ocean City! I finally had to take matters in my own paws and help her find the way! We'd ALREADY missed the Basset Olympics, I didn't want to miss the whole Waddle!
It took a VERY long time, but we did finally get there and....you're NOT going to believe this! Ocean City is actually sitting out in the MIDDLE of one of those giant wells! We had to cross ANOTHER bridge to get there! It wasn't even FINISHED yet! And then there we were with water....
every way we turned!
Fortunately, the water wasn't in our motel! Here it is. Isn't it cute?
When we got to the motel I was able to meet up with my good friend Baxter Frisch! We've been friends on Facebook for a long time now, but this was the first time we got to meet in the fur.
Baxter just loves a good laugh! (Wait'll you see his Waddle costume!)
It was late by the time we finally got settled in, so we just took a little walk around and then went to our room to watch a little TV and get ready for bed. And so the first day of our Waddle adventure ended!
Stay tuned! To be continued....
